My Inspiration

Quilted Heirlooms was created out of a vision to help heal
my family. An unexpected tragedy left a  baby without its
mother. Offering to make a quilt that would remind him of her
endless love and a tool to comfort him was the only way I felt
useful in a very sad situation.
So in an effort to help my family turn their grief into a
celebration of our cherished one's life, Quilted Heirlooms was
born. Soon after, I realized that in addition to helping families
hold onto memories of loved ones, I can also create quilts
that celebrate joyous occasions.

. After learning how to craft traditional quilts, I quickly looked
for a more artistic way of self expression.  Art quilting fit
perfectly for me.  Through instructing others in art quilting, I
discovered that I enjoyed helping kids express themselves
through fabric.   Today, I continue to learn and appreciate art
from the students I have taught in both schools and
throughout my community.  Thus, my new adventure, KRO
designs was born.
